New RIGIFLEX®-N Coupling

The new RIGIFLEX®-N Type A-H consists of two hubs, a spacer, and two laminated packs, which are pre-assembled during the manufacturing process. The hubs of these couplings are made in two halves to facilitate radial assembly and disassembly. The two parts are assembled using fixing screws.
This solution significantly reduces assembly and disassembly times, explains Engineer Reiner Banemann, Product Manager at KTR. Moreover, the benefits include reducing the risk of damaging the shafts. The laminates of the RIGIFLEX®-N are designed to be connected via overlapping bolts to the hubs and the intermediate element, ensuring continuous torque transmission. Since the coupling must comply with API 610 and 671 standards, the intermediate element remains between the two hubs in case of laminated pack failure.
The RIGIFLEX®-N Type A-H features a compact design with high load capacities and a low mass inertia moment. The new laminated coupling is available in six sizes for shaft diameters up to 150 mm and with nominal torques up to 2400 Nm. Its main applications include pumps in the process and chemical industries..
